Thursday, May 23rd, 1-3:30 pm, Wisdom of the Crowd. Join our 'Wisdom of the Crowd' discussion, where we will update you on recent discussions with the city, county, and Parks & Rec. More, we want your collective insights to be shared with the city task force looking at the senior center component of long-term planning. Together, let's crowdsource the essential details—the 'nuts and bolts'—of the ideal center and resources for a diversity of older adults.
Topics to be discussed will include: a) features of an idea facility, b) location(s) of facility, c) transportation needs, d) outdoor & nature programs, a pedestrian trail, dog park, e) pickleball and other outdoor activities, and f) need for evening programming, especially for older adults who are still working, Charles Visek will share information and opportunities at the previous golf course area of Jones Park and the Jones Park Lodge. We will also be discussing day trips and other outings.
Your participation is pivotal in shaping the vision for an age-friendly community center, one that stands as a vibrant hub for living our best lives. Be part of this dynamic dialogue as we weave together the threads of community wisdom to create a center that caters to the diverse needs and aspirations of Cedar Rapids' older adults.
